The Lowcountry Society of Women Engineers (Lowcountry SWE), a non-profit educational and service organization. We are a local section of the greater national organization of the Society of Women Engineers. We serve Charleston, SC and it's surrounding counties. These areas are known to natives as “The Low Country”.
OUR GOALS:
Community Outreach
Promote the value of community through participation in local outreach programs, by sharing acquired knowledge and supporting programs that bridge the gaps in recruitment, professional development, and retaining and advancing women in engineering.
Diversity
Promote a professional environment within our organization and the engineering community that is supportive of diversity in race/ethnicity, family status, age, gender, physical abilities, sexual orientation, socio-economic status and occupational focus.
Professional Development
Provide opportunities for women to aspire, advance, achieve, enhance and demonstrate leadership, professional and technical excellence that results in career achievement, advancement, and satisfaction, through career services, professional development and networking opportunities.
